I’m writing a research paper on the new media’s involvment among teens/adolescents in America today. This includes the tabloid explosion, Youtube phenomena, etc. I’m having a hard time finding reputable articles on the subject. Do you know of any places for me to look or articles pertaining to this?

Wanting to download music from a cd to mp3 player using windows media player ( windows xp)

I want to be able to use a video I have taken from my mobile and play it on Windos Media Player but it is a different codec? Can someone help me as in "Codecs for Dummies!" I posted a similar question before but no-one was able to help me – as in I downloaded what they told me to do – but to no avail! I want to edit my movie in Wondows Movie Maker but because it is realtek or something it wont let me play it on Media.
Phone I am using is Sony Ericsson K600i – I need to play movie on windos media as want to use it in Movie Maker.
I need to point out – I CAN play movie uploaded from my phone on my computer – but I NEED to be able to play it in Windows Media – not Realtek or whatever format it plays in. I need to convert it to Windows Media – but I dont understand codecs or how to do this.

Please note – Movie Maker seems to have trouble with AVI, but you should be able to convert to something else with tmpgenc. I don’t think it’s free, but I seem to recall you can get a free version that leaves a watermark on the video. Have a look into it.

There don’t seem to be any free, easy to use 3GP to xxx converters, although there are plenty the other way.

Edit: Here is a link to software that can convert 3GP. There is a free trial available. I haven’t used it though so I can’t tell you if it’s any good.

i have installed the K-lite codec pack and it seems to work with all my media players except for windows media player. how can i get it to work with windows media player?

I am new to Windows Media Player. I already have a play list posted and just want to burn the play list on a cd.
I just wanna know do you need a cd burner and a blank cd. Sorry I am just new to this.

Go into the Burn tab of Windows Media Player. Make sure the CD format setting is correct, Audio if you want to burn a traditional audio CD or Data if you want to burn a jukebox/MP3 CD. Then, insert a blank CD into your CD burner drive. Add the playlist you’ve made to the Burn List on the far right-hand side of the screen and hit the Burn button. Then it should burn your CD. Hope that helps.

Are they the same or would I need different cd media for them IE i have label fash cd drive but bought lightscribe blank media and this dont seem to work

Hello, I have downloaded new codecs for my windows media player, it now allows me to view certian things I couldnt before. My problem is I am trying to burn these on a disc, and they do but they do not work in dvd players, how do i get them to work for all the different dvd players in the house?

Some DVD players don’t play burn disk eg. I had a Sony DVD/VHS player that would not play burn DVD and I got a $29 DVD at Kmart that played all my burn DVDs. Get one of the cheap DVD players.

I had Winzip 12 and it totally went nuts when i tried to remove it, and then i couldn’t unzip my zip folders anymore. So i changed the default unzipper to Windows Media Center, and how do i get it back to a normal compressed zip folder? I have windows vista.

You have to set file association.

1. Open windows explorer. Click on Tools on the menubar and select Folder Options.
2. Go to File Types tab. Find ZIP extension in the list. Then click on the change button. Select the program you want to open zip files by default in your machine. Click OK there.
3. Click Ok in the main screen and come out.

Now your zip files shall be opened by dafult with your chosen application only.

I just installed windows 7 and when a video plays on media player I cannot find the save file as or the save option anywhere. You used to be able to right click on the title and choose the option to save as. Where is that now? Can you save from this media player now?
