For this project, we used:
1) 1 tablespoon peanut butter
2) Toothpaste
3) Diet Soda (must be sugar free or seltzer water)
4) Plastic container
5) Baking soda
6) Lots of paper towels

i havent try but i htink that i would cover the scratches but the cd wont work again because you just fill hte scratches with tooth past you do not recover the lost material (plastic) from the cd. but it is worth to try

xXGalletanoXx is right…if this method wears down the plastic then it would work…u can use a motor buffer to wear down the scratches and the cd will work. this seems like a chemical equivilant b/c tooth paste cola and baking soda are all harsh substances, just try not to leave it in the container too long
