How media effects eating disorders?
I am currently studying for my A2 level media qualification and am writing a paper on the extent that what is shown within the media effects people with eating disorders or can make people develop eating disorders?
any comments on with issue are greatly received!!
Thanks in advance! ![]()
People on tv are seen as skinny and than being skinny= being happy.

I done a full paper on this once. It’s all about the "perfect" image probjected on to vulnerable young girls, and the extents they will go to match this unrealistic beauty, etc. I might add more later, but im far too tired right now.

i think media almost suggests eating disorders…most girls sitting on their couch feeling bloated after a binge would not even think to make themselves vomit it up to feel better. the media, by publicizing eating disorders, gives girls (and a small percentage of guys) ideas.
every magazine has a skinny (ahem, airbrushed) model plastered on the cover, and usually a headline for an article on how to lose weight.
