i thought $100 …
i thought $100 bucks was too expensive… until i hooked it up to my NAS and portable storage… it’s well worth it. I’ve tried for months and years to converge my media to play from PS3 and 360 … but it was too many steps and took to long. O! play just played them all. $100 is a little steep, but im not wasting time converting, streaming etc.

the new ones have …
the new ones have UPnP which they say you can… I haven’t tried it yet because i already have it on my HDTV. the old ones, you must upgrade the firmware.

i think $0.01 would be a much better price than $50….got this and a 1tb hdd for my mom, paid 190 for both….may be pricey but sure beats burning her dvds every time i download a few torrents…..she’d never be able to figure out a computer, old people

A PS3 doesn’t serve the same purpose. It doesn’t search ever corner of every storage device on your network for media. So no, don’t bother with PS3.

Actually 360 is better, media center, TVersity, Playon. In fact you don’t even need any of that to play media off your PC, it does .avi and dvix native.

Your right it is much cheaper, not only in terms of price but QUALITY. With S-video you only get 480i, thats right 480 INTERLACED. Its not even ‘good’ 480i either.
