I need to transfer a TV show I recorded in Windows Media Center to another computer, but the one time I tried it, the file wouldn’t play on the second computer. The source machine is running Windows 7, and the destination one is running XP, if that matters. The computers are linked through a router.

Hi, I believe all versions of windows media player can do this, except for the latest version 12 that only windows 7 has.

Heard alot of users complain about the tag editor for wmp 12. The tag editor is the thing that adds the info you are talking about when ripping a cd and it also adds the album art, it does this from an online database. Here is the official home for windows media player from microsoft, I would suggest you go their and read up on wmp it will also tell you which versions are currently available and for which operating system,

I had a problem with my computer and had to reinstall Windows, I thinks it"s a different version of Windows. Does this make a difference in regards to Windows media player? I liked the other version I had more and want to get it back but I don’t know how?

No, it shouldnt. If you want to get windows media player in the older version, simply uninstall Windows media Player, it should go back to the previus version after that because its impossible to actually uninstall it.
If you want the new version simply go to the microsoft page and download the new version from there.

So I got a new blackberry torch for Christmas and the next day I notice the media section is blank. It wasn’t blank when i first turned it on though. I thought it might have something to do with changing my background theme thing but I’m not sure. The media is still on the blackberry, it’s in a folder called media in the "all" section, but the media section is blank, I tried moving the folder and everything but it doesn’t work. I don’t know why this happend or how to fix it! Please help!

It would be from the new theme. If you pulled the battery and restarted it then they might show up in the proper folder after the reboot.

I downloaded a Christmas theme for my BlackBerry Torch and it seemed like everytime I rebooted more and more icons changed to the Christmas theme. It was pretty odd but once I switched back to the original theme everything went back to normal right away.

well for months now i have been trying to burn songs onto a blank cd using windows media player,but whenever I try to hi burn it says connect a burner and restart the player. well i dont know what they mean by connect a burner. Windows Media Player is not finding a cd burner on your system, either because you don’t have one, or there is a driver error.

If you’re sure that your optical drive is capable of burning CD’s, take the cover off the computer tower, disconnect your CD/DVD drive, start up without it. Then shut down, reconnect the drive and restart. Windows should locate and reinstall the drive.

Hey guys, I have a dvd I wanna make a copy of, and I was wondering if there was a way to do this with windows media player. I have the latest version of media player (the windows 7 one). Im not very good with computors so any help would be appreciated.

I have a history with win. 2000 and nero. The laptop I just purchased has win. 7 … which deals with copying differently. When I load a family dvd video that I want to copy into laptop, win. media will open and play it. When I switch to the menu window, however, It reads "unknown dvd" under the title. It will not drag and drop to the burn list. I assume I must download the dvd to the computer first, but I can’t figure out how to do it?
