I have DVD I bought and I burned it through 4 media DVD copy. After I burned it, I played it on my iMac and DVD player and the disc menu shows up but the movie won’t play. Please help!

If you wanna make a DVD that will work on a standard DVD player, you will need a DVD burning tool to do this. Just copy the movie to a DVD disc, it will actually not read by DVD players.

I am currently using the Western Digital HD plus media player. It does good but doesn’t support so many of my videos (ex wmv). Trying to convert these can become quite the pain.

I’ve also used the Zinwell player with did a great job but didn’t play wmv files and didn’t have the streaming features the western digital does. Guess you have to pick your battles here.

SO, what do you think is the best media player? Best supported files and features? Any advice would be GREAT!!! Thanks a bunch!

VLC and its free

The sound when I play songs is fine but when I plug in my phone and try to play the videos on my phone on windows media player the video works but the sound doesnt at all, how do I get it to work? thanks!
oh by the way the videos are MP4 videos and I have the latest windows media player.

I use Windows Media Player 12 on Windows 7.

I would like to know how can i update my media library on my player, i got alot of new music and it wont show on the player.

The problem is where you’re storing your music. If you can, move all your music to the My Music directory on your computer. If you cannot, you must add the location of your music as one of you Music Library Locations. To do this, right click Music in your list and choose Manage Music library. Once you’re there click on the Add button to begin to locate the directory where your music is stored. Once you’ve found your directory, click it and press the Include button. Now press Ok and that’s it. Media Player will start updating the library and will do so automatically whenever you open it.

I’ve been recently looking for a media player and I’ve liked mpc star, but it’s been having sync problems can anyone list a media player like it, but better?

I use VLC – http://www.videolan.org/vlc/ It can play practically anything, one exception is animated gifs.

When I double click on a song to play it, most of the time it will not start the song from the beginning but some apparently random place during the song. I’ve had this laptop for almost 2 years and it’s always done this, and the only advice I can find online is to reinstall windows media player (which I’ve done twice). Any help with this problem would be very appreciated because it really annoys me. Please help!

Have you tried playing your file in some other music player such as WinAmp? If so does it do the same thing?

Hi, i downloaded a video file (.001) and tried to play it with Media Player. it plays fine at the beginning but goes "Windows Player encountered a problem while playing the file" or something like that, I’ve tried other Media Players(VLC, Haihaisoft, WinAmp) but had no luck. Does anybody know how to fix this?

Well I can tell ya that VLC media player is a good one for it. Fairly light and it plays most formats. Also updates fairly often as well. Link at the bottom should take you for the download link for it that works for Ubuntu.

Just wondering if you need to have windows media player to be able to sync songs that have been downloaded from rhapsody to an mp3 player? For some reason my windows media player is not installed properly and i’ve tried re-installing it but it isn’t working. So is there software that rhapsody has to sync songs right from the site to an mp3 player? Or does it download its own media folder that i can sync from?

I don’t use windows media player to download songs from rhapsody.

I use a streaming audio capture to record songs from rhapsody straightly to my MP3 player.
