This video was created for a psychology class project. The main point of this video is not to bash Disney, but merely to highlight the stereotypical gender-roles, the construction of femininity/masculinity, and the portrayal of dominant/single women in its animated feature films. It is obvious that Disney did not invent these stereotypes, but rather reinforces them in society. Media plays a huge role in socializing individuals. That is, conveying to males and females certain beliefs, values, and customs to live by. Disney was the main focus of this project because this socializing process starts at a very young age. Disney is at the pinnacle of the children’s media industry. No other company has the influence or impact that this multinational conglomerate has.

A tutorial showing how to stream media such as pictures, music and videos to your PS3 with Windows Media Player 12 & Windows 7.

If you cannot see the “Turn on media streaming with HomeGroup…” option, click “Stream” then “More streaming options… “. A new window will appear, in that window you will see a link to “Choose homegroup and sharing options”, click that link. Then you will see the options/ check boxes of what you would like to stream on your network, as shown in the video. Follow the video on from that point.

IF YOU CANNOT SEE A FOLDER INSIDE ONE OF YOUR MEDIA FOLDERS:
On your PS3, once you have clicked on the streaming icon (it should look like a Windows icon in a white box), you should see folders such as Music, Videos & Pictures. When you have opened a folder (eg. Music) you should see a bunch of other folders, but one of those folders will be called “Folders”. Inside that folder are all the other folders inside your media folders such as Music, Pictures & Videos.

NOTE:
On your PS3, streamed picture files must be accessed from the Photo column on the XMB, streamed audio files must be accessed from the Music column on the XMB and streamed video files must be accessed from the Video column on the XMB.
