Play DVD’s in Windows XP’s Media Player

This quick registry tweak enabled the Windows Media player in XP to play DVD’s so you do not have to get another program to play them. This was tested with Media Player version 11 in Windows XP and works great.

i had my dvd touch stone working fine but i think i deleted somthing importiant by accident and i keep getting a prompt about my dvd decoder is there any way i can download a decoder i dont have the nero disk anymore and i need somthing i can play dvds on that is good quality

i did all that & i still ended up with a pop-up saying “Windows Media Player cannot play the DVD because a compatible DVD decoder is not installed on your computer.”

Hey, no problem for watching..lol..you speak clearly, and give easy details to follow…thanks! The other thing I did on another cpu.. was sorta..hacking WMM, and thats not always the best choice..

get k-lite codec …
get k-lite codec pack and that fixes it
